So what is the word on the street in your circle of friends?  Who do they say that Jesus is?  A great teacher?  A prophet sent from God?  A historical figure that had His day?

More importantly, who do you say that Jesus is?  Jesus raised that question to His disciples and the answer was that the word on the street indicated that He as the return of John the Baptizer, Elijah or Jeremiah.  It was Peter, speaking for the group, that announced that they believed that He was the Messiah, the Son of God.  So what makes Peter’s speech so powerful, so important?  That is where we will be focusing our thoughts this week in worship.  We are still gathering for worship at 10:00am for the next couple of weeks to ‘beat the heat.’  Please plan to join us.  All are welcome.  One special note: During the worship hour we will be baptizing Harper Malaspina.  Come and join us as we celebrate the Sacrament together and renew our baptism vows.
